About Us
Mission: Unleashing the power of youth to change the world!
YouthRoots is a leadership nonprofit and youth-led foundation that empowers high school students to impact their communities through the experiential classroom of philanthropy. Each YouthBoard is composed of 15-20 students who complete a three-step philanthropic process together (Community Needs Assessment, Fundraising, and Grant making). Embedded in this process are 16 leadership development sessions. YouthRoots participants impact their community today while learning the skills to enact positive change in our world tomorrow.
YouthRoots was awarded “Outstanding Foundation” by CO National Philanthropy Day, “Outstanding Nonprofit Organization” by the Governor’s Service Awards, and “Innovator” by Community First Foundation. We operate programming in 3 states: Colorado, Michigan, and South Dakota.
