What We Do
We listen, and we do what is most helpful for each family. We may provide groceries, a hot meal, diapers or clothing, provide guidance to resources, or get a car to the mechanic so the parents do not have to take the time to do so. We also offer babysitting for siblings and professional house-cleaning so an immune compromised child can return to a clean home. We aim to take a few things off their plate so the families can focus on what matters: caring for their child.
How We Do It
We work in conjunction with social workers at children’s hospitals to identify families in need of support. Through our caring network of volunteers and in-kind donors we maintain a pantry and warehouse of food, diapers, clothing, books, toys and other children’s items. We establish relationships with local businesses who donate time or offer services at a reduced rate. Alongside our active volunteer base, we support our families through generous donations from individuals, corporations, grants, and family foundations. The average cost to support one family is $2,500, and approximately 80% of our program items are in-kind donations.
