About Us

Founded in 1890, Josephinum is the longest-standing high school for girls in Chicago with a rich history of providing a transformative, Catholic, and college preparatory education to young women. Today, Josephinum seeks to offer its diverse community the opportunity for a world-class education that prepares young women for success at college and in life. The school is currently in the process of implementing the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program for all students with full authorization expected in January 2016.

As a Sacred Heart School, our educational philosophy is guided by the Goals and Criteria of Sacred Heart Education: to educate to a personal and active faith in God, a deep respect for intellectual values, a social awareness which impels to action, the building of community as a Christian value, and personal growth in an atmosphere of wise freedom.
