Virginia Aquarium & Marine Science Center
The Aquarium showcases Virginia’s diverse and unique marine environment. The 89 acre campus includes: two exhibit buildings; a one-third-mile long nature trail; Virginia native gardens; the National Geographic 3D Theater; 800,000 gallons of water in exhibits; 360 interactive exhibits; live animal habitats and two touch pools. The animal collection of approximately 12,000 represents over 700 species. Seasonal boat trips and premium behind the scene experiences add a deeper dimension to guest visits.
In recent years, research and conservation efforts with the Aquarium have grown. The Virginia Aquarium was the first certified Green Attraction in the Commonwealth.
