With the realization that every human beign is endowed with a gift that can contribute in one way or the other to community development and the progress of human civilization, in 2007, Youth Agriculture and Development (YAD) Cameroon was founded by a group of dynamic Cameroonian youths as a community based innitiative group to improve agriculture and economic growth within communities and to promote development and sustainable livlihood with focus on the women and youth within the Northwest Region of Cameroon.
Development is no longer a remote phenomenon that should be spoken of in isolated fragments and broken patterns. While YAD perceives health to precede wealth as inseparable units of the phases of human development, we bring to light the fact that youths constitute a vast world of unexploited potentials needed for community development. In this light, YAD is advocating for the coming together of all youth who should put together their forces to sustain the forces of today for posterity through involving in agricultural practices. While YAD does not only encourage and promote youth in agriculture as a means to sustain life, it changes their vision to see agriculture as a way of life.
YAD's culture is to enable youths to become aware of their potentials and equal access and control over resources for sustainable community development within a supportive policy environment.
Youth Agriculture and Development (YAD) Cameroon is a non profit making organization which has as its mission to support and empower the youths and special groups within the communities to become self sufficient and responsible through Agriculture, education and capacity building, councelling and informtion through the use of participatory approaches and advocacy.
