    The mission of Literacy Pittsburgh (formerly Greater Pittsburgh Literacy Council) is to ensure that adults and families acquire reading, writing, math, English language, computer skills and workforce skills so they may reach their fullest potential in life and participate productively in their community.

    About Us

    Literacy Pittsburgh is a national leader in adult and family literacy. Literacy Pittsburgh has been providing a wide range of educational programs to adults and families throughout Allegheny County for 30 years. Now also including Beaver County, we serve our students and volunteers through regional neighborhood offices, our Beaver County office, and our Pittsburgh Downtown Center.

    Adult Literacy Action helps adults develop or improve skills in reading, writing, math, English for Speakers of Other Languages, family literacy, job training and workforce education.
