Friends of Black Rock / High Rock, Inc.

About Us

The Friends of Black Rock High Rock (FBRHR) promotes the health and welfare of the Black Rock Desert – High Rock Canyon – Emigrant Trails National Conservation Area and the neighboring region through direct volunteer management and conservation services, visitor contact, interpretive tours, events, and publications.

This Friends group educates visitors about the safe, responsible use of sensitive resources, and we also enlist and train volunteers from all interests to stabilize, improve, monitor, or enhance historical and natural resources. We work in tandem with the Bureau of Land Management to bring about the best decisions for this federally recognized National Conservation Lands region, encouraging the enjoyment and improvement of recreation opportunities. Stewardship projects on this 1.2 million acres of land, with 10 wilderness areas, is a priority for the organization.

Friends of Black Rock / High Rock is a 501.(c)(3) non-profit organization. www.blackrockdesert.org
