The Mission of YMCA Hayo-Went-Ha Camps is to inspire youth from all walks of life through outdoor adventure. Our programs develop important life skills, self-confidence, and an enduring commitment to others, as expressed in our motto: Each for All, All for Each.
Our vision is to be the nation’s premier wilderness-based overnight camp, unlocking transformative pathways to growth and shaping the leaders of tomorrow.
"Each for All, All for Each."
We are two unique single-gender camps on two lakes, united as one community. For more than 110 years, YMCA Hayo-Went-Ha Camps has carried forward a rich tradition shaped by generations of loyal alumni.
Our program blends backcountry wilderness adventure with classic residential camp life. Campers learn responsibility, teamwork, leadership, and the values that help young people grow into caring, capable adults. We keep camp unplugged, with no cell phones or social media, so campers can focus on face-to-face friendships and real communication.
Each year we raise roughly $300,000 in camperships because we believe every child who wants to come to camp should be able to attend, regardless of a family’s ability to pay. Season after season, campers leave empowered, confident, and deeply connected to others and the outdoors.
