    About Us

Launched in May 2018, Foodshed Capital is a Virginia-based nonprofit loan fund, farm business accelerator, and Community Development Financial Institution operating around the country. We help regenerative farmers overcome the financial barriers that hinder their success so they can achieve enduring outcomes for communities and climate. We provide two primary services:

    1. Capital: Affordable, flexible farm financing with no fees or credit scores, including 0% interest for many low-income operations.
    2. Business Support: Zero-cost, high-touch services to help farmers understand their finances, plan for growth, successfully apply for financing, and sustainably manage debt.

We exclusively support operations producing, processing, moving, or selling regenerative and organic food, and we prioritize our services to low-income and underserved business owners who face the greatest obstacles to accessing capital. Learn more at www.foodcap.org.
