About Us

Rwenzori Center for Research and Advocacy (RCRA) is a not-for-profit non-governmental organization in Consultative Status with the United Nations [UN] established in 2010 by senior medical specialists and social scientists and incorporated in 2014 as a charity organisation in Uganda. The mission of RCRA is to empower communities for improved livelihoods, healthcare and education appropriate to the 21st century through, awareness, research, technology and innovation. Our Strategic funding objectives are; 1) Identify orphaned and other vulnerable children (OVC) in families, deliver sustainable and participatory interventions to these OVC, their families and schools, and mobilize these families to address needs for economic benefits, education and facility health care; 2) Promote interventions on reproductive maternal, neonatal and child health, Nutrition, Malaria prevention, Obstestric Fistula, mental health, trauma, HIV/AIDS awareness, care and support to persons infected and affected; 3) Promote interventions on youth empowerment, child protection and well-being; 4) Enhance human health and well-being through translational/operational research in infectious diseases, and promote prevention and control of Non-communicable diseases (NCDs); 5) Improve performance and productivity of the health workforce; 6) Empower communities through demand-driven integrated development programmes in smart climate and integrated natural resource management.
