About Us

Point Blue Conservation Science, based in Petaluma, California, is a growing and internationally renowned nonprofit with over 160 staff and seasonal scientists. Point Blue (pointblue.org) advances conservation of birds, other wildlife and ecosystems, on land and at-sea, through innovative research, restoration, outreach and extensive partnerships. Our highest priority is to reduce the negative impacts of accelerating changes in climate, land-use and the ocean on nature, on wildlife and people.

Founded in 1965 as Point Reyes Bird Observatory, Point Blue works in partnership with management agencies, non-governmental organizations, academic institutions, and private interests. Point Blue is helping to ensure that every dollar invested in conservation yields the most for biodiversity - benefiting our environment, our economy, and our communities.
