Sunset Park Avenues Elementary School

Sunset Park Avenues Elementary School is a small new school opening in the Sunset Park neighborhood of Brooklyn. We will serve students in Kindergarten when we open in September 2013. When we reach full scale, we will serve grades Kindergarten through Fifth Grade.

At Sunset Park Avenues, students will learn in an environment rich in literacy, language, and mathematics instruction. We believe that students learn best by doing, and as such, we make sure to dedicate a large portion of instructional time to exploration and independent practice through the workshop model. Teachers provide intense daily individual and small group instruction in order to meet the needs of all of the students in our school. Our students will also have the opportunity to learn in Dual Language classrooms, in which they will learn to read, write, and speak in two languages. All staff members collaborate to ensure that all students achieve high levels of success.

Sunset Park Avenues Elementary School will welcome and encourage full and active family participation through classroom visits and school activities. We believe in celebrating the multi-lingual and multi-cultural heritage of our students, families, and neighborhood.
