District Sports

District Sports is a community based 501c(3) non-profit formed in 2004 to administer athletic programs for all adults who are willing and able in Washington, DC. We are committed to using participatory sports as a platform for community building and service.

Starting with one soccer league on a tiny grass field in the Adams Morgan neighborhood, we have grown into the largest provider of adult soccer programming in the DC Metro area. In 2018, nearly 7,000 local residents, on more than one thousand teams, participated in our leagues and tournaments. Along with creating excellent athletic experiences for constituents, District Sports is committed to community service and charitable work. Last year we administered over $75,000 in grants and donations to support athletic programming for DC youth. Each year our engagement in this space grows.

In the coming years, District Sports seeks to expand programming in the District and beyond. We hope to leverage relationships with private and public partners to more fully meet the needs of residents young and old.
