Clemson Downs Volunteers

  • Mission

The purpose of the Clemson Downs Volunteers, an independent, non-profit organization, is to provide for the general welfare and well-being of the residents of the Clemson Area Retirement Center Health Care Center and other CARC residents by providing volunteer services, equipment and programs.

    About Us

Would you like to help another person have a happy day –and give yourself one at the same time?

For the past 30 years, many of your friends and neighbors have done just that by serving as volunteers in the Health Care Center and the Assisted Living Apartments at the Clemson Area Retirement Center.

The health benefits get from helping others have been scientifically validated. But the pure enjoyment that comes from volunteer work that brings pleasure to people who need and appreciate our help can’t be measured.

Volunteers can choose the kind of work to do and the days and hours that work best for their schedules. Applicants should be at least 18 years old and in good physical and mental health.

Each applicant is asked to visit with the Clemson Down Volunteers’ membership chair to provide basic information and explore where he or she may best use their talents and serve the needs of the Clemson Downs Retirement Center residents. New volunteers are provided a smock or jacket to wear while on duty.
