Opportunity International Nicaragua links the most promising community economic development strategies with microcredit strategies to accelerate and elevate the poor out of poverty.

Our work is based on identifying, investing and mobilizing valuable local assets, such as the skills, products, resources, experience and wisdom of local people.

We understand that the poor will transform their lives through their own efforts; our role is to facilitate that process by providing access to information, training, technology, financing and markets. We link entrepreneurs from the US with microentrepreneurs in Nicaragua, investing with the poor to develop businesses & community and economic solutions. By investing in leadership development, small & medium businesses and supporting the social and spiritual development of families, we believe community transformation can occur.
