Pilot International Foundation

About Us

Pilot International Foundation was established in 1975 as the charitable and fundraising arm of Pilot International. PI/PIF adopted brain injury and brain disorders as a signature project in the ‘90’s and over the years raised over two million dollars for Alzheimer’s research. In 2000, the incidence of brain injury captured the public’s attention with the statistic that every 15 seconds someone in the United States incurs a brain injury. These facts compelled Pilot International to launch its BrainMinders™ program in July of 2001. Since that time more than 429 Pilot Clubs in this country, Japan, and the Bahamas, have joined together and made a commitment to change these statistics. Our clubs have conducted thousands of elementary school based educational programs featuring our BrainMinder Buddies ™. To date Pilot Clubs have given over 12,500 BrainMinders presentations, for over 500,000 children. However, approximately 700,000 books have been distributed to Pilot Clubs. Our mission includes projects which help improve the quality of life for people with brain related disorders in communities around the world.
