Cristo Rey High School Sacramento provides
private, college-preparatory education to students from the Sacramento region.
We educate students with limited financial means, only accepting those whose
families are at or below the federal poverty level. Ultimately, our goal is to
send each of our graduates to college. This unique education is made available
to students through our innovative Work-Study program in which students work 5
days per month in businesses throughout the Sacramento region. Currently
over 100 companies in the Sacramento area financially sponsor and mentor these
students. The entry level Work-Study positions help offset the cost of
the students’ college preparatory education who otherwise could not afford it.
Many of our students will be the first in their families to attend college.
There are 30 Cristo Rey schools across the nation, all with 98% of their
graduates being accepted to college. With the help of our business partners,
Cristo Rey is creating deep change in the community, by providing an education
to those who need it most.
