National Black Caucus of State Legislators

NBCSL is a non-profit organization headquartered in Washington, D.C., dedicated to providing education for over 650 African American state representatives and senators across the country. Our members hail from 45 states, the District of Columbia, and the U.S. Virgin Islands and collectively represent over 65,000,000 constituents of all racial backgrounds.

NBCSL apprises its legislators of policy trends and model legislation, provides educational and training opportunities, and advocates on behalf of African-American legislators and their constituents at the federal level. Educational offerings include policy conferences, a magazine and monthly briefs, policy resolutions, and meetings with Congressional members, Administration officials as well as corporate, labor, and non-profit stakeholders.
