Jewish Community Federation of the Greater East Bay

By way of countless services and events, offered and supported annually -- and inspired by conversations with donors, grantees, and the community at large --Federation allocates community resources (time, dollars and talent) to the priorities that emerge from the entire community.

Through this process, we give continuity to the Jewish values that have made a difference in all our lives:

-The mutual respect and inclusion of diversity within Jewish life (klal Yisrael)

-The obligation of caring for each other (tzedaka)

-The opportunity to engage in perfecting the society in which we live (tikkun Olam)

-The centrality of Israel to the Jewish people

Federation's vision is to creatively transmit Jewish learning and culture and strengthen the practices and traditions that enrich Jewish identity and life.

We are excited to enter the new millennium with this clarity as well as the capacity -- thanks to our Jewish community -- to respond to the needs of our Jewish community.
