  • About Us

The mission of Bayview Hunters Point Center for Arts and Technology is to inspire and educate young BIPOC, LGBTQIA+ and women artist to become the next generation of media makers and storytellers. By providing a nurturing environment, diverse mentorship and access to cutting-technology, BAYCAT empowers young people to produce digital media that positively transforms themselves, their communities and the world.

BAYCAT is a community media producer of San Francisco – developing messages by the people, for the people. A dynamic social enterprise, BAYCAT educates, empowers and employs. We offer free classes in film production and graphic arts to the youth and young adults in Bayview Hunters Point, one of the most historically divested from communities in the city, and other diverse neighborhoods. BAYCAT then hires our graduates through our enterprise arm, BAYCAT Studio, to produce professional video content for clients that include businesses, government, local Bayview merchants and nonprofits. BAYCAT inspires young people to pursue creative careers and use the power of media to shape their communities and transform an industry.
