  • Mission

The Alaska Kidney Patients Association is committed to providing support, education and advocacy to kidney patients and their families, promoting organ donation, public education and the prevention of kidney disease.

    About Us

Since 1999, the Alaska Kidney Patients have provided the kidney patients of Alaska with support, education, and advocacy through the annual patient education symposiums, quarterly newsletters, and support groups. In 2008, the Alaska Kidney Patients Association incorporated as an Alaskan non-profit and was granted 501(c) (3) status in November 2008. Because of the tremendous growth of Alaskans with kidney disease, the AKPA Board of Directors expanded our mission to embrace public kidney education and prevention for the State of Alaska, and is the only kidney health organization in Alaska.

Current Programs: Annual Education Symposium, Quarterly Newsletter, Renal Resources, Peer Mentors, Kidney Related Workshops, Living Donor Workshops, Free Kidney Risk Assessments, Dash for Donations, Kidney Walk, and Patient Advocacy.
