Hevreh of Southern Berkshire - The Early Childhood Center

Hevreh is an engaging Jewish community that welcomes people of all faiths to our early childhood center (ECC). The ECC at Hevreh offers full day child care in a nurturing, vibrant, and developmentally appropriate environment for infants and young children (ages 3 months – 33 months). We view children as capable and curious. Focusing on the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical growth and development of all participating children, our play-based curriculum provides opportunities to foster exploration and cultivate creativity. We seek to promote the growth of each child’s body, mind, and spirit. Teachers work as learning facilitators by encouraging hands-on activities, observing children’s interests, and providing forums for more in-depth learning. We work to develop the children’s imagination and independence as well as helping to develop each child’s social and emotional foundation. Our emergent curriculum is also guided by universal Jewish values that include: Talmud Torah – instilling curiosity and a love for learning;  Gemilut Chasadim – teaching love and kindness; and Derech Eretz – teaching cooperation and community participation. In addition to supporting the growth of each child, we seek to support family relationships. The ECC is committed to creating a space where all families feel valued, affirmed, and nurtured. 

The Early Childhood Center at Hevreh is a private pre-school owned and operated by Hevreh of Southern Berkshire, a 501(c)3 corporation. We are a Reform Jewish synagogue, affiliated with the Union for Reform Judaism (URJ) and located in Great Barrington, Massachusetts. The ECC will be licensed by the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care (DEEC).
