EcoVivarium

EcoVivarium is a living sanctuary and immersive learning center where rescued reptiles, amphibians, and arthropods become ambassadors of education, culture, and compassion—empowering individuals of all ages and abilities through hands-on experiences that explore science, art, cultural history, and the vital importance of environmental stewardship.

EcoVivarium Reptile Sanctuary and Museum is one of the largest reptile sanctuaries in the country. We care for reptiles, amphibians, and arthropods that have been given up, discarded, and abandoned, with nowhere else to go. We are home to roughly 400 animals at any given time. Our mission extends beyond providing critical medical and emotional rehabilitation, care, and lifetime sanctuary for these animals. While they cannot be returned to the wild, they can serve to educate the public on the critical role they play in natural habitats and in human culture since the dawn of time. Through our guided, hands-on museum tours and educational outreach, we introduce the public and school groups to their critical part in the environment, as well as connections to cultures and religions around the world, as evidenced in ancient to modern art.

EcoVivarium is a one-of-a-kind Living Museum. All of our programs feature our rescued or donated Animal Ambassadors. The animals bring learning to life, provide an opportunity to appreciate the role they play in our world, our cultures, and our very future, and give tangible reasons for adopting a more eco-centric vision for the future. Our reptiles are 98% rescues and 2% donated. Unlike other entities, we never buy animals. We rehabilitate and then train our animals inhouse to be Ambassadors for the museum and our outreach programs.
