    Established in 1962, North River Commission focuses on comprehensive community development, including education organizing, economic development, affordable housing, and community and park planning on Chicago's northwest side. Community areas represented include Albany Park, Irving Park, Hollywood/North Park, Mayfair and Peterson Park neighborhoods in Chicago, representing 200,000 households. NRC unites civic organizations, schools, businesses, and institutions to coordinate ideas and concentrate our resources to improve the quality of life for all.
