Founded in 1964 as CAMP -the Central Area Motivation Program - Byrd Barr Place was one of the first community-led organizations funded by the Economic Opportunity Act. For over 50 years we have provided families with human services and empowerment programs to meet the needs of Seattle's poor. Today we offer energy assistance and housing assistance, as well as operating a food bank and providing workshops on personal finance. Together, we're fostering a stronger, more vibrant city, where all people have the opportunity to build a good life.
