  • Mission

Big Brothers Big Sisters of America (BBBSA) is the oldest and largest youth mentoring program in the United States. BBBSA started over a century ago to match caring adult volunteers with children in one-to-one mentoring relationships. Today, there are over 200 agencies nationwide. Our mission is to help children in Westchester and Putnam Counties to achieve their full potential in school and in life. We achieve this by providing young people who face adversity with professionally supported one-to-one mentoring relationships that positively impact their lives…forever.

    About Us

BBBS was founded in 1958 and built on developing professionally supported one-to-one mentoring programs. Today, we specialize in creating and supporting relationships in Westchester and Putnam County, New York, that help youth, particularly those facing adversity to develop the characteristics needed for academic, social, and economic success. Our mentors help the youth population change for the better by developing long-lasting relationships and teaching skills that help them meet a multitude of challenges in life that many other youths their age are not prepared to navigate.
