Second Chance CA

Our mission is to correct California’s sentencing system by providing a rigorous parole process for young people who were sentenced to life without the possibility of parole when they were 25 or younger at the time of their crime. Our purpose is to honor the capacity for human change, uphold public safety through careful review, and build stronger communities by ensuring that those who have rehabilitated can return home to contribute positively after decades of accountability.

Second Chance CA is a diverse and growing coalition of social justice groups, labor unions, community organizations and faith groups working to pass a bill that would end life without parole sentences for youth. Life without the possibility of parole is a sentence to die in prison.
