The Bahá'í Faith has been present in Salem, OR since the early 1950s. However, it was proclaimed in 1844 in Persia.
The Salem Bahá'ís offer the following: Community based children's classes based on learning virtues such as truthfulness, compassion; Junior Youth Empowerment Programs; Devotionals and meaningful spiritual conversations; Study circles on spiritual topics (such as Reflections on the Life of the Spirit), history of the Faith, the eternal Covenant of God; Ongoing discussions on racism which is considered America's most challenging issue. The Bahá'í Community has also been a longtime supporter of the Marion Polk Food Share. It has been a contributing member of the Oneness Coalition for years.
