    Northeastern Illinois University (NEIU) is a comprehensive state university serving more than 12,000 commuter students. Located in a residential neighborhood on the northwest side of Chicago, the University offers more than 70 undergraduate and graduate majors. The student population is diverse in age, culture, and language, and includes many returning adult students, students of color, and people who are first in their families to attend college. It is an affordable educational and cultural resource for the greater metropolitan Chicago area, fulfilling an important role in Illinois higher education.
