Rec N Roll

  • About Us

The Rec & Roll program is a FREE mobile recreation unit created to bring activities/sports to "park poor" neighborhoods. The program is Monday-Friday taking place August 18, 2008-June 3, 2009. Time is Afterschool-5:30pm. The Summer program begins June 4th, taking place Monday - Friday, 9:00am-3:00pm. This year the children will not only participate in the traditional sports and games, but will also have the opportunity to explore their Central Florida community through culture, the arts, theatre, drama, and guest speakers. In the upcoming year Rec n Roll will strive to expose the children in our program to "the world", things that they would not normally see in their own neighborhoods. The RNR program teaches children cooperation, self-efficiency, respect, responsibility, and community pride through planned activities. This program emphasizes the importance of effective communication, maintaining good sportsmanship, developing a team concept and being knowledgeable of game rules and regulations. It is our goal to involve every child in all activities that enhance their ability to learn and succeed and accomplish this in a fun, safe, and positive manner.
