Plumbers Without Borders is a grass roots effort started in Seattle in 2010 by 2 plumbers and their wives, on a quest to improve lives and global health. We believe "Safe water and sanitation are basic human rights."
We advocate, educate, mobilize, facilitate, network, partner, implement, and problem-solve.
Some of our core causes/topics include: water safety/purity/quality ; water conservation ; water scarcity ; water pollution or contamination ; water-borne diseases ; sanitation systems ; poverty ; open-defecation ; toilet systems ; pit latrines ; waste related diseases ; closing the skills gap ; closing the gender gap in the trades ; trades as a career path ; building infrastructure and economic opportunities, and more.
PWB has partnered with numerous ngo's with a shared vision of increasing access to safe water and sanitation, such as:
Engineers Without Borders, Habitat for Humanity, Architects Without Borders, Construction For Change, Build Health International, International Rescue Committee, and others.
