The Krewe of the Scarlett Fortuna

The Krewe of the Scarlett Fortuna is a 501c3 Nonprofit based out of Pinellas County, Florida designed to promote literature education among school age children themed as a pirate crew. Our literary outreach program strives to place a free book in the hands of children at each event we attend, while our demonstrations educate the public about life during the Golden Age of Piracy (1680-1720ad). Volunteers can participate in a variety of ways from historically themed campsites, historic weapon training and demonstrations, mermaid opportunities and more.

We serve the general public at every event we participate in as our team has been known to travel around the state of Florida to attend various festivals, events, and programs. We are looking for dedicated volunteers who are willing to embrace the pirate life to help us promote literature one 'R' at a time!
