The Down Syndrome Association of Connecticut
Mission
About Us
We are a statewide organization of people who have Down syndrome, their families, friends and interested professionals. We reach out to new parents and parents-to-be, and help our families support one another through friendship, advocacy and education.
We are small, but we do big things!
We send kids and adults with Down syndrome to summer camp (which also provides respite for their families); we facilitate the Advocacy Avengers, a social support and skills group for teens and adults with Down syndrome; we offer family support groups throughout the state; we advocate for policies that benefit individuals with intellectual disabilities, we hold social and educational events year-round; and we provide tutoring to individuals with Down syndrome, and support educational best practices and positive systemic change in schools through our Literacy and Education Center.
