Association FILANA was established to work in partnership with local stakeholders in the south east of Madagascar to find and develop economic solutions to environmental problems, such as through partnerships with economic operators and the development of entrepreneurial spirit in local people. We are an organisation made up of people from development and conservation backgrounds, and local leaders. We aim to encourage and develop sustainable tourism and we encourage other local businesses to work with us to boost local employment and training opportunities for local people. Association FILANA is responsible for conservation and biodiversity management and research activities in partnership with local social enterprise Dadamanga SARL at the Sainte Luce Reserve. We are based in Tolagnaro in south east Madagascar and our activities for the time being are concentrated specifically in Sainte Luce.
