    OUR MISSION — To help children and teens forge their own paths to prosperity through entrepreneurship, job readiness, and financial education.

    About Us

    Based in Greenbelt, Maryland, near Washington, DC, YES fiscally sponsors and partners with schools and organizations in western Kenya that align with our mission. YES in suburban Maryland (2022 to present) was inspired by, continues the mission and work of, and shares a founder-director with our predecessor, YES, in rural Western Massachusetts 1998-2013).

    GOALS

    • To create a “prosperity pipeline” for generations of children and teens to learn the fundamentals of starting a business, getting and keeping a job, managing their money, and pay forward their talents, time, and treasure to empower others.
    • To cultivate and support a local entrepreneurial ecosystem by forming alliances and partnerships with neighborhoods, businesses, government entities, and nonprofit organizations.
    • To create an entrepreneurial culture by helping everyone in the community understand, appreciate, and champion entrepreneurship as a way of shaping a life, making a living, and contributing to the well-being of our community and our planet.

    STRATEGY

    To enable children and teens to learn about, engage in, and experience business formation, job readiness, personal finance, and philanthropy at times, and in places and formats that are age appropriate and aligned with their individual learning styles, academic needs, and generational culture.
