Jewish Relief Agency (Philadelphia)

JRA is a vibrant volunteer-centric non-profit organization focused on alleviating hunger, building community, and helping the most vulnerable individuals and families in the Philadelphia region, including frail seniors, persons with disabilities, individuals with chronic illnesses, immigrants, refugees, non-English language speakers, and people facing temporary financial emergencies. 

Each month we bring together 700 to 1,000 volunteers at our warehouse to pack and then deliver boxes of nourishing food to 3,200+ households, comprising 6,000+ recipients. In addition to enabling our core food program, our network of 10,000+ volunteers also help with “service gigs,” such as driving seniors to doctors’ appointments and the grocery store, making small but needed home repairs, and building connections with our clients through friendly visits. We deliver our services to recipients and welcome volunteers from all backgrounds.
