Project Girl Performance Collective

  • About Us

Project Girl Performance Collective creates a fearless space for girls to write and perform their own work.

Our workshops and performances activate youth to be the change in their community. We engage company members -- young women age 12-21 -- through a series of theater exercises, writing prompts, readings, and discussions.

    Some topics we’ve addressed include:

    • Identity (race, class, sexual orientation, ability)

    • Body Image

    • Family Relationships

    • Popular Culture

    • Violence Against Women and Girls

    • Global Women’s Issues

This work typically culminates in a theatrical production, and we have produced several critically-acclaimed shows in New York City, including sold-out performances at the New York International Fringe Festival and exclusive engagements at the United Nations and regional theaters.

The company and directors are available for day-long or weekend-long workshops for young women, as well as workshops with educators and community leaders working with youth.
