About Us

Press Street Gardens is an urban farm and outdoor learning laboratory funded by The NOCCA Institute, the nonprofit partner of the New Orleans Center for Creative Arts. We grow fresh vegetables, fruits, and herbs, which are used by NOCCA’s Culinary Arts students in their classroom training. We help NOCCA faculty incorporate the gardens into their arts, science, humanities, and health education lessons. We provide produce to Press Street station, and we also sell it to local residents and businesses.

We offer an exciting urban green space for workshops, meetings, and other activities. Through these events, we hope to educate participants about topics ranging from proper gardening techniques, nutrition, and personal well-being to wetlands restoration and environmental stewardship.

Like 5 Press GalleryPress Street Station, and other NOCCA Institute projects, proceeds from Press Street Gardens support a broad range of programs for NOCCA students, faculty, and the community.
