Carnegie Mellon University Online Master of Science in Business Analytics

The Tepper School of Business has a track record of success delivering high-quality, engaging online degree programs on par with its on-campus programs. With that in mind, Carnegie Mellon University and the Tepper School of Business are proud to announce the launch of the Online Master of Science in Business Analytics program, with the first cohort starting in 2018.

The Tepper School of Business at Carnegie Mellon University developed the curriculum for the Master of Science in Business Analytics (MSBA) program from the ground up with this question in mind. Industry leaders report that the greatest need is for professionals who not only have advanced data analytics skills, but also the right kind of business knowledge so that they can discern what problems can be solved with these tools.

To this end, the innovative MSBA curriculum developed by our award-winning faculty includes courses in machine learning, optimization, data visualization, big data, and also the business function areas where these techniques are applied. Students gain a holistic perspective of business analytics, learning everything from business intelligence skills to advanced analytics techniques. The program’s purpose is to produce high-caliber graduates with a unique aptitude for solving complex business problems, strong communication skills, and an intellectual and competitive advantage in the industry.

Students have four opportunities to begin the MSBA foundation courses each year, in May or July in preparation for the August start for core courses and in August and October leading up to the January start for core courses. The admissions committee reviews completed applications during rounds prior to each core courses start date.
