About Us

“Using Nudges to Implement Comparative Effectiveness: Behavioral Economics and Statins” (Nudge) is a grant-funded research initiative related to health policy, health economics and related disciplines at the New York University School of Medicine, Division of General Internal Medicine. The specific area of research includes how physicians make clinical decisions in patient care through the use of electronic health records (EHR) systems. This study proposes to use a sophisticated EHR system to change the default choice most supported by clinical practice guidelines in order to “nudge” physicians towards more optimal choices in clinical care.
