Sprout started in 2020 as a project to provide community fridges to underserved residents in Homestead. As we worked in the community we realized our mission was larger than just the community fridges, so in 2021 Sprout Up was birthed with a three-tiered approach designed to address food insecurity, education on healthy foods, and job scarcity in South Dade. We do this through weekly food distributions, aeroponic community gardens, and education.
Our goal is to provide access to food and education to the most vulnerable in our community.
Our programs include five weekly distributions in five locations in South Dade, community aeroponic gardens, and after school and summer camp programming for school age children.
