    The Capital Area Therapeutic Riding Association (CATRA) is a non-profit community organization founded in 1985 in Grantville, PA. CATRA offers weekly therapeutic riding lessons to over 120 riders of all ages from 7 Central Pennsylvania counties. Therapeutic riding is beneficial for children, adolescents, and adults who present with any of a very wide range of cognitive, physical, or emotional conditions. CATRA is a working horse farm which is also home to a number of other animals including goats, dogs, cats, rabbits, chickens, and alpaca. The organization, which has daily operational needs, is 100% volunteer staffed. Volunteer responsibilities include assistance with therapeutic lessons; maintenance of barns, paddocks, and grounds; gardening; and small animal care.
