Network of Strength

, Breast Cancer Network of Strength, formerly Y-ME National Breast Cancer Organization, has been a premier resource for breast cancer and breast health information, peer support and empowerment. The mission of Breast Cancer Network of Strength is to ensure, through information, empowerment and peer support, that no one faces breast cancer alone. As originally envisioned by Y-ME founders, our free-of-charge programs and services are available to anyone who needs them. To meet our goal, Breast Cancer Network of Strength reaches out to underserved populations across the country.

Asian American women continue to be diagnosed with breast cancer at a later stage than Caucasian women. This is largely due to underutilization of cancer screening services, which can be due to factors such as lack of accurate information about breast cancer and not being aware of available screening services. Breast Cancer Network of Strength is working to increase the number of Asian American women screened for breast cancer. With screening and earlier diagnosis, women have more options for treatment and have a better prognosis.

Breast Cancer Network of Strength has developed a program to outreach to the Asian community and increase breast health and breast cancer awareness. Our program, “A Day For You ” works with community clinics to provide women with education, clinical breast examinations, and same-day mammograms through the use of a mobile mammography unit, if applicable.
