About the Hamilton Partnership for Paterson
The Hamilton Partnership for Paterson is a 501(c)(3) organization whose mission is to enhance the educational, social, and economic benefits of the Paterson Great Falls National Historical Park for the city, the region, and the nation. We work through education, advocacy, and collaboration with other nonprofit organizations, government agencies, and the private sector. Our office is the Paterson downtown historic district, opposite the Paterson Great Falls, the second most powerful waterfall east of the Mississippi.
The Paterson National Park is the most important public strategic initiative for Paterson in generations, with potential major benefits for the city and region. The National Park can spur private investment and thereby improve the desirability of Paterson as a place to visit, learn, live, work, and invest. Excitement is building with the opening of newly renovated parkland and new educational and civic leadership programs engaging Paterson youth. Hamilton Partnership is leading the way in helping the National Park Service plan a new visitor education center at the Great Falls, scheduled to open in 2021.
It usually takes many years to see any visible change on the site of a new national park, but we can help show progress more quickly. The Hamilton Partnership is helping to jump-start the national park and produce educational materials and a wide range of programs to engage residents and visitors in Paterson’s remarkable history in new ways that speak to the times in which we live.
