Friends of Silver Lake Nature Center

  • About Us

The Silver Lake Nature Center inspires connections with nature for people of all ages, interests, and abilities through education, recreation, preservation, research and advocacy.

Silver Lake Nature Center is a 235-acre "natural treasure" in the southern portion of Bucks County, Pennsylvania. It's a place where lush foliage, accessible wetlands and rich woodlands abound.

The grounds are maintained to enhance the diversity of plant and animal life and include 4.5 miles of nature trails. Our goal is to inspire our visitors with the wonder and beauty of the natural world and to preserve the priceless heritage of Silver Lake and its watershed for generations to come. We offer a variety of education programs to schools and scout groups as well as programs geared to the general public. Additional activities include Summer Nature Camps, a watershed monitoring program, and the construction of a demonstration zero-carbon building, one that cools and heats itself and is built with recycled materials.

The Silver Lake Nature Center is owned and operated by the Bucks County Department of Parks and Recreation. The Friends of Silver Lake Nature Center (FOSLNC), a non-profit organization, assists with the management of the Center by bringing in support from the community to fund an expanded array of program offerings.
