About Us

The Treehouse mission is to promote public investment in our most vulnerable children. Our vision is “Every child rooted in family and community.” We inspire, implement and support innovative child welfare practices to ensure that children who experience foster care find forever families in supportive communities, enabling them to lead fulfilling, productive lives.

Treehouse, based in Easthampton, MA, has two key initiatives: The award-winning Treehouse Intergenerational Community Model, and the Re-Envisioning Foster Care in America Movement (REFCA). The Treehouse Community, where families adopting children from foster care live near caring older adults who volunteer to support them, opened in 2006. At Treehouse, children and youth who have experienced foster care, families and seniors invest in each other’s lives and well-being daily. Our success and ground breaking outcomes have resulted in multiple national, state, and regional awards.
