IMPACT: Imagining Together Platform for Arts, Culture and Conflict Transformation

IMPACT is a diverse, dynamic, and imaginative organization that works globally to illuminate and strengthen the field of arts, culture, and conflict transformation (acct).

IMPACT believes that through deep and ethical engagement, acct can contribute to creating a world where dignity, vibrancy, creativity, and fairness inscribe relationships with each other and nature. 

We recognize the urgency, fragilities, and possibilities of the moment, including the vulnerability of the planet, the accelerating loss of languages and cultures—and the wisdom they embody, and the assaults on freedom of expression and other human rights; as well as powerful sources of resilience and an evolving understanding of our global interdependence. 

We accept that our best intentions do not eliminate risks of harm or absolve us of responsibility, and that ethical aspirations and accountability for our actions are central to our work. 

We value reciprocity and generative, life-affirming, creative collaboration, and invite others to engage with us in this spirit. 

We commit to working in ways that are inclusive of the diverse perspectives, knowledge sources, languages, and ways of seeing the world in the ecosystem of artists, cultural workers, scholars, conflict transformation practitioners, educators, diplomats, activists, policymakers, and funders, among many others. 

We know that achieving our vision is only possible when people of different regions, abilities, genders, classes, ethnicities, races, faiths, generations, and languages can fully participate. 

We understand that differences in power often divide us and impede effective collaborations, and we are committed to manifesting respectful ways of working that disrupt and challenge systems of inequity, such as racism, sexism, patriarchy, and colonialism.
