REMBRANDT CHAMBER PLAYERS INC

  • Mission

Rembrandt Chamber Musicians perpetuates chamber music as an accessible, engaging, and deeply personal living art form by: -- Presenting world-class performances of well-known masterworks and hidden gems from the Baroque period to the present -- Collaborating with renowned guest artists -- Commissioning living composers to create new musical works -- Supporting young musicians through an annual high school chamber music competition and educational outreach initiatives

    About Us

Founded in 1990, Rembrandt Chamber Musicians (RCM) comprises five of Chicago's leading classical musicians, including principal members of the Lyric Opera of Chicago. RCM performs 8-9 concerts annually in Evanston and downtown Chicago, and is known for its frequent collaborations with leading guest musicians, and for its ability to perform a wide range of works--from beloved masterworks to newly commissioned works--with a consistently high level of artistry. We are financially strong and well-positioned to survive the lack of live performance opportunities as the world waits for a COVID-19 vaccine.

We also have an interest in fostering the next generation of classical music artists and patrons. Our Annual High School Chamber Music Competition attracts talented youth ensembles from across the Midwest, and members of winning ensembles often go on to prestigious careers in classical music. Our Power of Music high school education program provides music education for students who would otherwise likely never experience classical music.
