Defeat Poverty DC

Defeat Poverty DC is bringing new voices to a 10-year campaign to cut in half the number of people living in poverty in the District.

Defeat Poverty DC is a partnership of leaders representing the non-profit community, community groups, religious leaders, the business community and concerned individuals from across the District. Our priority is to ensure that the District government enacts policies that will alleviate poverty. Our work involves raising awareness, encouraging action and engaging in advocacy to Make Work Possible, to Make Work Pay, and to Make Basic Needs Accessible.
