Tarbuton, Israeli Cultural Experiences

The Tarbuton provides authentic Israeli cultural and Modern Hebrew programs. Our mission is to strengthen the Jewish community through Israeli cultural experiences and Hebrew language, educating our next generation, connecting all ages to Israel, and bridging the local Jewish and Israeli-American communities.

We reach over 2000 households, making Israel connections for 200-300 San Diegans weekly or bi monthly and serve as a cultural Jewish entry point for young adults, adults, families and youth. Programs appeal to all denominations, interfaith families and unaffiliated and build relationships between local American Jews & Israelis.

Our after school programs satisfy busy families’ needs by offering multiple locations, days and shuttle service from school. Adult social clubs emphasize Israeli film, literature, food and Modern Hebrew.

You can find Tarbuton programs in schools, libraries, parks and coffee houses, and enriching several San Diego Synagogues with our nationally recognized Modern Hebrew and Israeli cultural programming.
